Poor Yorick

Check out this fab stamp I received on a package this morning :

stamp doctor

Mmmm, Doctor. Doctor in knitwear. Mmmm. What? Oh, sorry, just had a little day dream for a moment there.

Where was I? Oh, yes. Stamps. Hamlet is one of a set of six stamps in the same fantastic monochrome-plus-splash-of-red design which came out on 12th April to celebrate 50 years of the RSC. You can check out the other stamps in the same series here.

Rhubarb and Custard

pink and yellow 1

Tulips and Ranunculus, a little gift from Husband this evening. He is good, 'int 'ee? They are doing a very good job of making our Very Nearly A Living Room look more like a living room. Lush.

Gawjus

I came across these beautiful embroidered Penguin book covers today on the blog of the uber-talented Jillian Tamaki:

Such wonderful textures to them. Apparently, according to Jillian's blog, they will be "printed with a sculptural-embossing technique that will emphasize the stitches". I do hope so, it would be a shame to miss out on all those lovely shapes. They're out in the autumn and I can't wait to get my hands on the "Emma" one; that hair is just stunning. Check out Jillian's blog post for photos the works in progress and of the full wrap-around covers.

Hello, Stranger

Is this thing on? Hello? Ah, there you are.

Well, nearly a month later, I'm back. I've been busy being ill, moving house and working solidly to make my artwork deadline for the first part of the Frogs Project. Thankfully, all three of those are now done with. Hurrah! I finished working on the final picture at 3.20am this Monday morning. Ouch. I've had a couple of days off this week visiting my Ma and getting the new place a bit more sorted (as we pretty much shoved all our boxes of stuff in one room then ignored them all while I got on with my work), then I'm on to the roughs for the second part of the project tomorrow. It's all go. We also, after a lot of hassle, only got our internet connected up today, so I am only now back in the virtual world. Helloooooo!

So, for your delectation and delight, have some new born lambs, and I mean NEW born. slightly gooey and everything:
